Dan McKay

dmckay@mckayinsagency.comDan joined McKay Insurance in 1973 after graduating with a BBA in Insurance and Financial Management from the University of Iowa. He has been a Certified Insurance Counselor since 1982. Dan has held many community volunteer positions including Safety Director for RAGBRAI, and was on the Major Gifts committee for the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame and Museum. When not at work, look for Dan on a bicycle.
Megan McKay Ziller

She graduated with a BBA in Management and Organizations in 1999 and an MBA in 2005, both from the University of Iowa. She earned her Certified Insurance Counselor designation in 2003. Megan stays active in her community by serving as Treasurer of the Red Rock Arts Alliance and trustee for the Knoxville Hospital and Clinics and is active in the Knoxville Noon Kiwanis.
Scott Ziller

sziller@mckayinsagency.comScott joined us in 2001. He came with an Associate of Arts in Graphic Design and soon after was licensed in all lines of insurance. He earned his Certified Insurance Counselor designation in 2005. Scott specializes in Silent Sports, Special Events and Non-Profit Insurance and Risk Management. He is active in the community through Rotary, Streetscape/Downtown Revitalization committee, Chamber of Commerce, Red Rock Arts Alliance and serves on the board for Pine Knolls Country Club.
Carol Pearson
Office Manager, Silent Sports Services
cpearson@mckayinsagency.comWith a background in health clinic management, Carol joined the agency in 2001. Her office manager duties expanded to also handle Silent Sports insurance and she became a licensed agent in 2007. Carol volunteers with the Marion County 4-H Foundation, Marion County Cattlemen, and New Covenant Church. She enjoys outdoor activities on her farm, gardening, quilting & traveling.
Meg Carruthers
Silent Sports Services
mcarruthers@mckayinsagency.comMeg joined the agency as part of the school to work program in 2004 and we never let her go. While attending classes at DMACC she earned her personal and commercial insurance licenses in 2007 and assists clients primarily in the Silent Sports area. She volunteers for Marion County Humane Society and Knoxville Chamber of Commerce. In her free time she enjoys spending time wth friends.
Dylan Morse
Commercial Lines Specialist
dmorse@mckayinsagency.comDylan is a native of Knoxville who worked his way back home after completing his education at the University of Northern Iowa with degrees in Financial Management and Economics in 2009. His education and work experience have led him to specialize in commercial insurance with a niche focus on vineyards and wineries. He was integral in rallying the community around Knoxville Movie Nights and volunteers for the Knoxville Chamber of Commerce and Streetscape/Downtown Revitalization Committee. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with friends and family, cooking, golfing, and renovating his new old house.
Sue Thrailkill
Personal Lines Manager
sthrailkill@mckayinsagency.comSue came to McKay Insurance Agency in 1986 through an acquisition of Ream Insurance Agency. She has been licensed since 1989 in Personal Lines Products. In 1995 she left McKay’s to work at Farmers Casualty Insurance Company in WDM to start a new homeowner’s product line and the last two years there she was a personal lines underwriter. In 2000, came back to McKay and has enjoyed it ever since. She continues to get as many classes related to insurance as possible and enjoys putting her knowledge to work for individual and farm clients. She has served on the church board at the New Covenant Church for several years and volunteers for the End of the Month Meals, a no cost meal service in Knoxville.
Darcy DeVries
Personal Lines and Health Agent
ddevries@mckayinsagency.comDarcy joined McKay Insurance in 2003 after 2 years at Allied Insurance. She brought great background of Allied products and knowledge to the agency. She takes great pride in providing exceptional service to her personal lines and health clients with a special focus following up on claims. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her family, especially her grandsons.
Tanya Hurst

In 2004 she earned her Accredited Customer Service Representative (ACSR) designation and continues her education to stay up to dat. She has specialized in Personal Lines Insurance for most of her career. In her spare time she loves spending time with God, family, and friends.
Jodi Bassett
Commercial Lines Account Representative
jbassett@mckayinsagency.comJodi came to McKay Insurance from a background in workplace safety and has completed the OSHA General Industry Class. She earned her insurance license in 2008 and is completing her AS in Business Administration through DMACC in Spring of 2011. In her free time she enjoys running and keeping up with her active family. Jodi completed her first ½ marathon in the fall of 2010 and is looking forward to the next.

Commercial Lines Account Representative

She received her education at Montana Tech and Helena College of Technology. She works with commercial clients and agents to make sure everything is in order. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her husband and kids, watching football and reading.
Todd Chambers

tchambers@mckayinsagency.comAfter successful management career with Hy-Vee, Todd joined McKay Financial Services in 2007 and the same year graduated from Simpson with a BA in Marketing. In addition to his Life and Health Insurance licenses, he holds the Series 7 and series 66 securities licenses. Todd is very active in the community serving on the board of the Knoxville Chamber Of Commerce, Pine Knolls Country Club and Knoxville Hospital & Clinics Foundation as well as volunteering with Rotary. When he is not helping clients meet their financial goals he golfing, working out, and travelling.
Kalie Swayne
Receptionist
kswayne@mckayinsagency.comKalie has been with McKay Insurance Agency since June 2006 and became a licensed agent in 2008. Her friendly voice and smile greet clients every day and she provides valuable support to all our departments. She takes continuing education classes to further her knowledge as a licensed personal lines agent. She volunteers with Habitat for Humanity and spends her free time enjoying outdoor activities, landscaping, and being with her family and friends.
